Handmade Card Collection - Handmade Christmas Card N 4

Hi again! Here is my Christmas Card N4. I have used this beautiful Santa vintage image which is stamped on a piece of fabric. I have roughen the edges of the fabric as well as the rest of the papers in the card. Also to add some sparkle a shinny snow flake that rests on a red bow. I have also sewn the different levels of papers. Hope you like it!

Christmas Cookie Handmade Card - Collection 2011

This card I have named "Christmas Cookie". I have used a cardboard chip with the shape of a cookie to which i have glued a little piece of fabric to simulate a scarf. The same type of ribbon has been used in the bottom of the card. Also the "Merry Christmas" phrase has been framed with another cardboard chip which I have coloured in white and also have done the edges in red. From this small frame is hanging a small red button with a golden elastic that gives the card some spark. I have also blurred the outlines of the different levels of papers to add more dimension to this handmade card. Hope you have enjoyed this card!

So for this Handmade Christmas Card I have decided to keep on using the websterpages.com papers. This website has amazing products! The paper I have chosen has a Christmas design. The most important image is the white christmas tree. I have decided to explote this image and therefore I have decided to just add some embellishments on the paper. The focus then turns into the brown ribbon with the sparkly snow flake and the "Joy to the World" chip on the right top side of the card.

To add some more dimension to the handmade card I have glued three white plastic snow flakes on the card. Also I have used a brown chalk to brown the edges of the card to give that feeling of vintage and old.... Dont forget to do some work also on the edges of the card with a pair of scissors.

Sarah Kay handmade card "because of you". This card is one of my creations. I love the colours in it. The papers are from the company "Stampin up". The flowers are made out of paper and also of fabric which gives the card not only another dimension but also brings colour and shine to it. A small doily was placed in the back of the Sarah Kay image. The diferent layers in this card has also been sewn. The image has been painted by hand in soft colours, mainly yellow, violet, bues and pinks. Ideal to give to a good friend. Hope you enjoy!

Here is my last creation. I really love love this card. It measures 7x7. I have sewen most of the paper layers in this card. It is my own creation so i am very proud of it. The image is from Sara Kay and I have discover how to get really good results painting with water pencils and blending markers. Inside the card a pull out tag, also sewen. The legend "you will remember this day" says it all. New Mothers Handmade card

Hello again! My sister is going to be soon a new Mom so i have decided to create this beautiful Handmade Mother's Car for her. The central image is a mother holding her baby, kind of vintage image which i love. It is a big 5x4 inches rubber stamp. Then the inscription at the bottom of the card was stamped with acrilic stamps. Then a brown ribbon from the company stampin up.

Project for babie's room - Butterfly chandelier made out of paper - Handmade baby chandelier

So here it is my Baby's room chandelier! Lets see how I made it!

You will need white card stock, fishing line, a big old lamp shade, a cuttlebug machine, a butterfly cutter die or punch, glue. Lets do it!
First remove the metal circle wire at the bottom of the shade. This will be pretty much the frame from where the butterflies are going to be hanging from! Make sure you hang this frame in a high spot somewhere in the house so you can work on it and see it pretty much from underneath.

Then cut about 60 butterflies! I know its a lot but it is a really cheap project and beautiful!. Once that you have all the butterflies just glue them on the fishing lines, which should be about 20 inches the longest (center one) and shorter for the other ones. Glue the butterflies, if possible big ones and small ones in different directions to imitate the fly of the butterflies and they don t look stiff!. Also make sure that the line hanging from the center of the metal circle is longer than the rest of the other lines, you are supposed to make an invert triangle with all the butterflies!

I dont think this project needs much explanation, it is pretty easy and it looks amazing!

Hello again! Here is a paper project that i have done for my sisters baby room. It is just an adorn but it is really cute!
I will teach you how to make this paper crepe rose. Just watch my video in youtube right following the rose photo!

Once you learn how to make that rose, you will only need a stereofoam ball, some glue and a lot of roses to glue them!

Do not miss my next project which is a butterfly chandelier which i found in a very pricy store but i thought i could make. Here a sneak peak!

So here are my latest creations! These two following handmade invites were made for my sister's baby shower! We are still deciding which one to pick! My favourite is this first one. Really easy to make and kind of original too. The colours of the cards are yellow, white, green and red. These two cards can be used either for a baby boy or baby girl since there are no pinks or blues!

Hello,
Here again with some new projects! I had these two beautiful little paper boxes that my mother in law sent me once and have decided to decorate them. I thought they turned beautiful and so i have decided to share them with you.
The first one is a heart shaped box. I used Stampin up paper to decorate it. Then i had also some stickers from the same brand with the legend "Smile" in pink. I used the cuttlebug machine to cut those swirls that give some fun to the box and I also used an embossing template for the butterfly.
The second box i Used a decoupage technique in all the box. Then the same idea with the butterfly and I also used a yellow piece of ribbon to make the rose. (see on my youtube channel how to make this ribbon rose). I added to this last box a piece of shinny silver ribbon.
Another Idea was also to cover the whole box with glue so the paper wont turn dirty after some time! Enjoy!

Halloween handmade card

Halloween is an annual holiday observed on October 31. It has its roots in the celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday holiday All Saints Day, but it has largely a secular celebration. Common Halloween activities include trick or treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving jack-o-lanterns, ghost tours, bonfires,etc (information from wikipedia)
Here is a little handmade card done for this holiday. I have used orange glitter on the letters. I have also made the little witch hair with a piece of thread to give another dimension to the character. Also i have darkened the edges of the card to give it a more dramatic effect. Hope you enjoy it!

This one reminds me of those patchwork quilts, so typically of my grandmothers home! I used white glitter on the letters and it has definitely that quilt feeling with the piece of string and the buttons that I used on the card.
I made this card based on another handmade card that i saw on a magazine. It has definitely similarities but also it has some differences with the original one. I think it turned beautiful, specially i found beautiful the verse i used on it from Abraham Lincoln.

This other one is purely my creation. It is very colourful which i like because mothers day is supposed to be a celebration of all mothers and their beauty, and that to me reminds me of happy colours! Also what i like about this card is the different dimensions that it has. First the clipboard, then the glitter flower and the string and the little flowers on the bottom that resembles a little garden! So cute!

Handmade Easter basket!

First of all Happy Easter to all of you!!

Look at this idea. I just bought a peanut tin and decided to decorate it for Easter. I used an edge punch to make the effect of layers. Then I made also the flower with another scallop punch. I also used some thread to give the basket a more rustic feeling.
Inside I just bought this marshmallows that are so cute and added some m&ms that i had from valentines day!
I think it is a beautiful and cheap idea for giving this baskets to your friends!

So, here it is! This is my house shaped scrapbook album! I will give this to my sister in law as a present for her new baby.
You will see that the photos sometimes will not be related very much to the theme of the page since I will give this as a present and will let my sister in law choose the photos she would like to have in this album!
Also you will see that this is more like a Spanglish version of an album! Hope you like the layout.

Fun house shaped box

This one is not a handmade card but it was definitely so much fun to make!

I have decided to decorate this beautiful box that has a house shape and see how it would come out!

I have used green, pink, white and yellow as main colours. I have noticed the importance of coordinating the colours before you Begin your projects, from the papers, the flowers, ribbons, etc.

I think this would be a beautiful gift for somebody who moves into a new place or as a gift for newly weds! What do you think?

Ultimate Valentine's day handmade cards

Here are two of my last valentines cards. This one has been cut with the cuttlebug machine. It gives the card a fun look. Also i believe that red and green are a very good combination of colours for Valentines cards!

On this handmade valentines card I have used a sewing machine to give the card a "frame". The heart in the middle was coloured with red glitter which brings life, texture and another dimension to the card. Also I have been careful about the combination of colours: reds, greens and pale yellows are nice for this type of cards.

Handmade cards to say "Thank You"

The following thank you handmade card it is one of my favourites. It was made in less than 10 minutes, its simple, it has volume and it has really cheap embellishments.
If you observe, the flowers were made with paper, which was embossed with the "cuttlebag" machine and then I used a scallop punch to give shape.
Then a tag on the top right hand side of the card which has been also hand stamped.
and finally a small piece of thread to give even more volume to the card.
Simple, fast and easy.

How to make your own rubs-on transfer sheets

Start creating your own rubs-on transfers

If you are a designer or if you have a creative side, chances are you would love to be able to make and create your own rubs on for your handmade cards.This technique is very useful to make your own custom made souvenirs or when you hope you have a stamp with a particular name or word you couldn't find anywhere else.
Rub-on transfers are being used constantly for handmade cards, souvenirs, in scrap booking and craft projects. Rubs on are considered as one form of embellishment, and the following technique will allow you to create custom made designs! The good news is also that this is a very affordable and cheap way of creating your own embellishments.

What you are going to need?

The materials are very very cheap.You will need a transparency sheet, which usually costs not more than USD 1.00,Hair Gel in spray form or hairspray (USD 4.00)Hair dryer and an ink jet printer
1) Go ahead and design whatever you want for your project. Once you have your design complete make sure you mirror the image on the screen of the computer, this is important specially if you are printing only
text. Your final image will be in reverse of the original.

2)Spray a fine layer of the hair gel on the transparency, make sure its even.

3)Dry the gel to the transparency, make sure you don't come closer to the transparency too much with the hair dryer since it could ruin or bend the transparency.

4)Print your image like if you were printing on a regular piece of paper.
NOTE: This technique works with black ink.

5)Make sure the ink dries completely on the transfer sheet before using it.

6)Once the ink is dried, spray it with a coat of hairspray and dry it again.

7)Your rub-on is ready to be used on your project!

Remember also that once that you used your transparency you will be able to reuse it many other times!

FATHERS DAY HANDMADE CARD

FATHER'S DAY HANDMADE CARD "GONE FISHING"

Father's day is here and with it a new father's day handmade card.
This card was created for my father in law who loves going fishing.

Some of the card embellishments are made out of some natural elements like a mini piece of wood for the "gone fishing" sign and a little branch which simulates to be the fishing cane.
I also used a sewing machine to add some more details to the card. The idea was to make it as rustic as possible.

Hope you enjoy this idea of using natural elements!

Handmade card for a happy birthday!

Take a look at the detail of the green card stock. I embossed the paper and then sand it which makes the part of the paper that is embossed turn white. This gives another dimension to the embossing and adds colour too.
This is a technique you can use if you don't want to use a stamped paper but still have some type of pattern in the card.
Make sure if you want to try this technique you choose a paper where it can be seen the white on the edges of it. Not every paper will be useful for this idea.

Here you have some handmade ideas for weddings.

These photos belong to a wedding that took place in Colorado, Aspen. As you will see, all of the work is related to natural elements that could be find near mountains an lakes. That was the theme of the wedding and party.

The following is a center piece of one of the tables. The handmade card was mounted on a real piece of pine. The details at the top of the card were made with a heat gun and gold embossing powder. Then the edges of the paper were cut with a pair of scissors that have a nice shape.

This is one of the sourveniers of the wedding!

Handmade Cards tutorials - How to make a RIBBON ROSE

What you will need: just a piece of ribbon to make your rose! Make sure it is not very thin since you will need to fold it several times.Procedures: start in the middle section of the ribbon and fold it like in the video. Then keep on folding ,Hold the ribbon at a 90 degree angle so that it has a corner halfway through the ribbon (step one). Begin by folding one half over the other half of the ribbon, and pulling it down horizontally. Do the same thing for step 2, except this time you fold the "second" half over the first folded half. Repeat this process several times Hold the two ends of the ribbon, and use your other hand to pull the bottom-most end of the ribbon out from underneath your thumb and index finger. Pull straight down. The speed at which you pull does not matter, because either way the rose will begin to take shape and you will not be able to pull any further after a certain point.
